Soccer Game Preview: Burlingame vs. Homestead

The Burlingame Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Homestead Mustangs at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Burlingame's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Burlingame took on Los Gatos on Tuesday. Burlingame lost 4-1 to Los Gatos. The game was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Panthers couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, neither Homestead nor Piedmont Hills could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Homestead's goal came courtesy of Kaelyn Walukiewicz, who's now up to two this season.

Homestead's draw makes their record 0-2-2 this season. As for Burlingame, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Burlingame came up short against Homestead in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Burlingame avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
