R.J. Reynolds had won two straight road games and Antonio Samuels did his part to make it three on Friday. The Demons put the hurt on the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves with a sharp 41-21 win with plenty of help from Samuels, who rushed for 297 yards and five scores on only 13 carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 90-yard run.

R.J. Reynolds' defense made their presence known, laying out Ryder Polston. four times. Ballantyne Ridge's QB won't forget Brandon Bell anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Special teams played a big role in the game for R.J. Reynolds, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Samuels, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Despite the defeat, Ballantyne Ridge saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Polston rushed for 73 yards and three TDs, and also threw for 205 yards on 15 of 29 attempts.

R.J. Reynolds' victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Ballantyne Ridge, their record is now 1-4.

Coming up, after each having a week off, R.J. Reynolds and Parkland will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
