Basketball Game Preview: Temple City Rams vs. Immaculate Heart Pandas

The Temple City Rams will be taking part in a tournament against the Immaculate Heart Pandas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

If Temple City beats Immaculate Heart with 48 points on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Rams blew past Mayfield 48-16 back in November. With the Rams ahead 32-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Temple City relied on the efforts of Alexis Yoshimura, who went 6-for-10 on her way to 15 points and five steals, and Abigail Yoshimura, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 12 points and five steals. Abigail is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Wong, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, Immaculate Heart took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 54-26 victory over Hoover. The Pandas haven't had any issues with the Tornados recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Immaculate Heart's victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Temple City, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Temple City came up short against Immaculate Heart in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 50-46. Can the Rams avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
