Softball Recap: Milford Takes a Loss

Milford was the 7-5 winner over Wilber-Clatonia when they last played one another last Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maeli Kubicek spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Milford saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addisen DeLong, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Milford's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Wilber-Clatonia, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-11.

As of now, neither Milford nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
