Softball Recap: Boone Central/Newman Grove Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Boone Central/Newman Grove unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 9-0 to the O'Neill Eagles on Saturday. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2023.

The victory was the third in a row for O'Neill, bringing their record up to 4-4.

Boone Central/Newman Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for O'Neill, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-1 win against Blue River on the 30th.
