Football Recap: Columbus North Starts Season with Win at Home

Columbus North took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. They blew past the Whiteland Warriors 49-7. With the Bull Dogs ahead 28-7 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Asher Ratliff went supernova, throwing for 280 yards and three TDs while completing 82.1% of his passes, and also rushing for 37 yards and one touchdown. Those 280 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Parker Elmore was another key player, picking up 109 receiving yards and three scores.

Looking ahead, Columbus North will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Columbus East at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Whiteland, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Floyd Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
