Softball Recap: Gatewood Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gatewood can now relate to. They fell just short of the Edmund Burke Academy Spartans by a score of 6-5 on Friday. The Gators were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Spartans earlier this season, when they won 8-3.

Natalie Sills was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Arthur, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Gatewood and nudges their season record down to 14-10. As for Edmund Burke Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-11.

Gatewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edmund Burke Academy, they will face off against Briarwood Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
