Baseball Recap: Osceola Chieftains vs. Amery Warriors
Osceola had lost ten straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 5-15 to make it 11. They lost 10-3 to the Amery Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-10 loss back in April.
As for Amery, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-12. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
For Amery's part, Jacob Maxon was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Maxon also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Amery is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-11 otherwise. Maxon was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI and three runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grady Potter, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since May 2nd. Another player making a difference was Levi Thayer, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
As of now, neither Osceola nor Amery have any future games scheduled.
