Basketball Recap: Julissa Mota Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Santa Fe

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Godinez Fundamental walked away with it. They walked away with a 51-40 win over the Santa Fe Chiefs on Friday.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Godinez Fundamental to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julissa Mota, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brianna Lopez, who posted nine points and three steals.

Godinez Fundamental's victory bumped their record up to 15-12. As for Santa Fe, their loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-6.

Coming up, Godinez Fundamental won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Downey at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Santa Fe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
