The Raymond Central Mustangs will challenge the Platteview Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Raymond Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Raymond Central took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over Milford. The high-scoring effort was just what the Mustangs needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Tess Roubal was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Roubal wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lacey Down, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. Another was Emma Dukesherer, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, after a string of eight wins, Platteview's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cass. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 13, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Platteview's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Raymond Central, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Raymond Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .314. However, it's not like Platteview struggles in that department as they've averaged .369. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
