Soccer Game Preview: McDonough vs. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy

The McDonough Warhawks will venture away from home to challenge the Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. McDonough's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

McDonough took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Locust Grove, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. McDonough narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Locust Grove 3-2. Rickido Thomas had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble the Warhawks got from the refs.

Meanwhile, Eagle's Landing Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 10-2 to Eagle's Landing. The matchup was a close 3-2 at the break, but unfortunately for the Chargers it sure didn't stay that way.

Eagle's Landing Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for McDonough, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

McDonough was able to grind out a solid win over Eagle's Landing Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for McDonough since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
