Baseball Recap: Meridian Gets the Win

Meridian's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Central A & M Raiders. This was a revenge game for the Hawks: when they faced off against the Raiders on April 1st, they had to take a 8-3 loss.

Grady Stock made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Zander Thomas was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Terry O'Laughlin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Meridian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-12. As for Central A & M, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
