Softball Recap: Ralston Beats Pius X for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Ralston proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by seven) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Pius X Thunderbolts, sneaking past 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Rams sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Makenzie Macrander spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 24 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ralston's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elliana Orduna, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Ralston's win bumped their record up to 21-6. As for Pius X, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Thunderbolts beat Ralston by a score of 8-0 later that day.
