Soccer Game Preview: Stratford Academy vs. Harris County

The Stratford Academy Eagles will face off against the Harris County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Harris County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Stratford Academy, who comes in off a win.

Stratford Academy's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over John Milledge Academy. Considering Stratford Academy have won six games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Harris County managed to keep up with LaGrange until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Tigers lost 5-2 to the Grangers. While losing is never fun, Harris County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 231st, while LaGrange are ranked 91st).

Stratford Academy's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Harris County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Stratford Academy beat Harris County by a goal in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 1-0. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tigers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
