Football Recap: Northern Heights Falls to Burlingame in First Game of Season

Northern Heights kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They had to suffer through a 52-12 loss at the hands of the Burlingame Bearcats. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Burlingame's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Danny Cain, who threw for 182 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 120 yards and one score. The Bearcats' leading receiver Drake Skirvin was Cain's top target yet again, picking up 113 receiving yards and three TDs.

Northern Heights wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 40-28 defeat against Lebo on the 12th. As for Burlingame, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-0 victory against Waverly on the 12th.
