Basketball Recap: Monday's Victory Is Marina's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

If Edison wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Marina, they should've done a better job of containing Maria Tejeda. The Marina Vikings walked away with a 50-40 win over the Edison Chargers on Monday thanks in part to Tejeda, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals.

The team also got some help courtesy of Haley Nguyen, who posted three points and five steals. She has become a key player for Marina: the team is 15-6 when she posts at least five steals, but 2-5 otherwise.

Marina has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.5 points per game. As for Edison, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-24.

As of now, neither Marina nor Edison have any future games scheduled.
