Basketball Recap: Centennial Falls Short of Monache in the Playoffs

Centennial and Monache squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Centennial had to settle for second. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Monache Marauders. The Golden Hawks have struggled against the Marauders recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Monache's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyah Bartlett, who posted 17 points along with seven boards and seven steals. That's the most rebounds Bartlett has posted since back in December of 2024. Shelley Andrade was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and ten boards.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 21-7. As for Monache, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.

Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monache, they will face off against Sierra Pacific at 6:00 p.m. on February 28th. One thing working in Sierra Pacific's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.
