Woodland Christian takes down Modoc in a playoff battle

The Woodland Christian Cardinals had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 41-30 win over Modoc on Tuesday. The victory was just what Woodland Christian needed coming off of a 70-40 loss in their prior contest.

It was another big night for Teagan Hayes, who scored 22 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. She hasn't dropped below three steals for 11 straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Bihlman, who scored three points along with six steals.

Despite the loss, Modoc still got an impressive performance from Julianna Minto, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Minto has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last ten times she's played. Caelli DePaul was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 12 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Modoc smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodland Christian only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.

Woodland Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 18 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. As for Modoc, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-10.

Woodland Christian will head out on the road to square off against Mendota at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Woodland Christian is coming into the game with nine straight victories on the road, so Mendota will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. Modoc does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
