The Strawberry Crest Chargers will head out to square off against the Bloomingdale Bulls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Strawberry Crest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
On Monday, Strawberry Crest came up short against Wharton and fell 5-1. That's two games in a row now that the Chargers have lost by exactly four runs.
Strawberry Crest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lola Coole, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bloomingdale). They blew past Berkeley Prep 15-2 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Bulls, who have now won five contests in a row.
Natalie Cable made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Arianna Cerezo, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Sailor Quave was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
Bloomingdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Berkeley Prep only posted an OBP of .423.
Bloomingdale's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Strawberry Crest, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.
Strawberry Crest might still be hurting after the 17-7 loss they got from Bloomingdale in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Strawberry Crest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
