Soccer Game Preview: Burbank vs. Florin

The Burbank Titans will take on the Florin Panthers in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Burbank will be strutting in after a win while Florin will be coming in after a defeat.

Burbank is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Johnson onto the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Tuesday. Laura Carlos was a massive factor in the win as she booted in four goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Florin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting West Campus an easy 6-0 win. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 733rd, while the Warriors are ranked 279th).

Florin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6-1. As for Burbank, the victory got them back to even at 5-5-2.

Burbank came out on top in a nail-biter against Florin when the teams last played back in February of 2018, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Burbank since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
