Tulare Union came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against Tulare Western, but Regina Toscano wouldn't allow it. The Tulare Western Mustangs came out on top against the Tulare Union Tribe by a score of 43-33 on Tuesday thanks in part to Toscano, who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Annette Lopez was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Despite the loss, Tulare Union had strong showings from Kailee Gilbert, who scored 14 points, and Kaiden Valdez, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and ten rebounds. That was a full 42.4% of Tulare Union's points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karla Gomez, who put up four points.

Tulare Western's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9. As for Tulare Union, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-14.

Coming up, Tulare Western will head out to challenge Hoover at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hoover will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Tulare Western surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tulare Union, they will host Selma at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Selma has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
