Baseball Recap: Madison County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Madison County can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against the Stonewall Jackson Generals by a score of 7-2. This was a revenge game for the Mountaineers: when they faced off against the Generals back in April, they had to take a 16-6 defeat.

Jack Gordon made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Aiden Ryder was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Hunter Watson was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Madison County's win bumped their record up to 2-18. As for Stonewall Jackson, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.
