Baseball Recap: Marion County Comes Up Short

Marion County fell victim to Brookstone and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Brookstone Cougars, falling 13-0. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Eagles' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Marion County has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8-1 record this season. The win (which was Brookstone's third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion County will square off against Hawkinsville at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Marion County has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Brookstone, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Brookstone Cougars face off against Tiftarea Academy Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
