Basketball Recap: Mariposa County Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Le Grand came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Mariposa County, but Denise Corona wouldn't allow it. The Mariposa County Grizzlies walked away with a 44-32 victory over the Le Grand Bulldogs on Thursday thanks in part to Corona, who posted 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals. She has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played.

Haley Baars was another key player, putting up six points and three steals. What's more, she also racked up four rebounds, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Mariposa County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Le Grand, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-7.

Mariposa County will be playing at home against Delhi at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mariposa County is facing Delhi at the right time seeing as Delhi is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Le Grand, they will head out on the road to face off against Stone Ridge Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
