Football Game Preview: St. John Tigers vs. Argonia/Attica Titans

The St. John Tigers will face off against the Argonia/Attica Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. John will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Macksville, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Tigers breezed past the Mustangs to the tune of 60-14 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Meanwhile, Argonia/Attica blew past Pretty Prairie, posting a 56-6 victory. The win continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

St. John better keep an eye on Maddex Hemberger. He was instrumental in Argonia/Attica's win, throwing for 194 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes, while also rushing for 80 yards and a pair of scores. Hemberger also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making seven total tackles and defending one pass. Another player making a difference was Carson Vineyard, who gained 105 total yards and three touchdowns.

The victory got St. John back to even at 4-4. As for Argonia/Attica, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

St. John was taken down by Argonia/Attica 70-20 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
