Football Recap: Lincoln Northwest Falcons vs. Scottsbluff Bearcats
Lincoln Northwest played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 56-7 loss at the hands of the Scottsbluff Bearcats. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska football rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Bearcats are ranked 22nd).
Sammy Jurgens threw for 75 yards on ten of 19 attempts. Maeson Sallinger was his top target, picking up 30 receiving yards. On the ground, Kaiden Wood rushed for 52 yards and one touchdown.
Nate Kelley was nothing short of spectacular for Scottsbluff: he rushed for 81 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries, and also threw for 171 yards and two TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes. Those 171 passing yards gave Kelley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was George Schmall, who gained 110 total yards and two touchdowns.
