After losing to Brighton the last time they met, Irondequoit decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bruins on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted since April 23, 2025.

Alex McLaughlin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Irondequoit's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ben Budd, who went 1-for-2 with one run. That hit marked the first that Budd has got this season. Landon Bryan was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

The victory made it two in a row for Irondequoit and bumps their season record up to 12-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Brighton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Irondequoit will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bruins: the pair will be back at it again later today.
