Recap: Hart Indians vs. Valencia Vikings
The Hart Indians stacked an 11th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past Valencia 74-53. Winning may never get old, but Hart sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
It was another big night for Morgan Mack, who scored 21 points along with nine assists and six rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Lily Cornejo was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with four steals.
Despite the loss, Valencia saw an underclassman step up: Keira McLaughlin scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Libby Oxciano, who scored 19 points.
Hart's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46.33 points. As for Valencia, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hart will square off against Golden Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Golden Valley has now lost 12 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Valencia, they will head out on the road to take on Saugus at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Saugus presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Valencia in California (Saugus is ranked 213th, while Valencia is ranked 440th).
