Basketball Recap: Oxbridge Academy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Oxbridge Academy can now relate to. They were dealt a 65-27 defeat at the hands of the Santa Fe Catholic Hawks on Wednesday. The game marked the ThunderWolves' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Santa Fe Catholic was led to victory by Tate Darner and Toby Lane. Darner went 8-for-14 en route to 21 points in addition to eight assists and eight rebounds, while Lane went 7-for-12 to rack up 19 points and four steals. The match was Darner's 12th in a row with at least 18 points. Jacob Lackey was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven boards and three steals.

Oxbridge Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Santa Fe Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 games, which provided a massive bump to their 20-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Oxbridge Academy nor Santa Fe Catholic have any future games scheduled.
