Softball Recap: Northglenn Comes Up Short

Northglenn extended their losing streak to three on Saturday, dropping them down to 6-10. They lost 7-1 to the Centaurus Warriors. The Norsemen were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Northglenn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklynn Hendrick, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

As for Centaurus, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.

On Centaurus' side, Nora Midness spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 17 Ks. Midness has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kaitlyn Long and Emery Fannin did most of the damage at the plate: Long went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Fannin went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Long is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabel Sanders, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northglenn will host Riverdale Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Centaurus, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Brighton at 10:00 a.m.
