University hasn't had much luck against Eaton recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Reds at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Eaton will be up against a hot University squad: the team just extended their winning streak to eight. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over Weld Central on Tuesday.

Jasi Cole made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kamzee Kern, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ella Galindo, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

University always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Weld Central only posted an OBP of .375.

Meanwhile, while Eaton put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Fort Lupton. The Reds blew past the Bluedevils 17-0.

Like University, Eaton also got a great game from a two-way player: Johanna Galvan. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Galvan was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Emma Anderson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Paige Hofer was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

University's record now sits at 18-2. As for Eaton, their record is now 16-3.

Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. University has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .534. However, it's not like Eaton struggles in that department as they've averaged .465. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

University couldn't quite finish off Eaton when the teams last played back in October of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
