Basketball Recap: Canoga Park Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Canoga Park can now relate to. They took a blow against the Diego Rivera Huskies on Monday, falling 55-17. If the Hunters were looking for revenge after losing 41-22 to them when the teams met back in February of 2022, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Leading Diego Rivera to victory were Brianna Collins and Desiree Aguillon. Collins posted 31 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals, while Aguillon had 22 points and five boards. Collins has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 43 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Adriana Munoz, who scored no points along with six rebounds and five blocks.

Canoga Park's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Diego Rivera, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Canoga Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Diego Rivera, they will challenge Hawkins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Diego Rivera knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Hawkins likes a good challenge.
