Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Skutt Catholic's 21st in Last 22 Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Skutt Catholic had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Waverly Vikings as they made off with a 14-4 win. The result was nothing new for the SkyHawks, who have now won 21 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Madison Furlong was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last ten contests. Another player making a difference was Jenna Griffis, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Skutt Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .714. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .464 or higher in five consecutive matchups.

Skutt Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won 21 of their last 22 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Waverly, the defeat snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 21-11 record.
