La Jolla had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.3 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They walked away with a 49-40 victory over the Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Pilots back in January, they had to take a 46-22 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Jolla to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reagan Bennett, who posted 16 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Elena Farrar, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

La Jolla smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace's loss came despite strong showings from Alexandria Morland-Tellez and Sydney Thomas. Morland-Tellez scored 11 points and three steals, while Thomas earned 14 points along with six boards and three steals. Those 11 points gave Morland-Tellez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Hemmens, who put up four points.

La Jolla's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-9. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points over those games. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, their loss dropped their record down to 3-22.

La Jolla didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-36 victory against Hoover on the 11th. As for Academy of Our Lady of Peace, they have also already played their next contest, a 43-40 win against Sage Creek on the 10th.
