Basketball Game Preview: Summerfield Waldorf Mustangs vs. Credo Gryphon

The Summerfield Waldorf Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Credo Gryphon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Summerfield Waldorf will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Summerfield Waldorf came up short against Elsie Allen on Tuesday, falling 37-16.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Credo). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Technology 52-13. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Gryphon had established a 38 point advantage.

Credo's win came from a few key players Summerfield Waldorf will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maya Leach, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reilly Fay, who put up 13 points.

Credo has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.3 points per game. As for Summerfield Waldorf, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Summerfield Waldorf took a serious blow against Credo in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, falling 38-10. Can Summerfield Waldorf avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
