While Lincoln Southwest's win against Papillion-LaVista South wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Silver Hawks sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Titans on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Silver Hawks in their matchups with the Titans: they've now won three in a row.

Maisey McCarty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Morgan Gabel, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Peyton Yoder also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Lincoln Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.

Lincoln Southwest will welcome Kearney at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Papillion-LaVista South, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 7-4 defeat against Staley on the 19th.
