Baseball Recap: Newberg Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Newberg and Century had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Tigers took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars on Thursday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Tigers, who until this matchup were averaging 3.7 runs allowed.

Lucas Vaughn made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Zadek Bowlby was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.

Newberg's defeat dropped their record down to 25-8. As for Century, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-12.

As of now, neither Newberg nor the Jaguars have any future games scheduled.
