Basketball Recap: Burbank Takes a Loss

Burbank was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 53-45 to the Arcadia Apaches. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 32-31 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Arcadia was led to victory by Shirley Freeman and Hailey Lam. Freeman dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards, while Lam went 5 for 7 on her way to 13 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Freeman has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Catelyn Chen was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 12 points.

Burbank's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Arcadia, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Burbank will challenge Marshall at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Arcadia, they will be playing at home against Franklin at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday.
