Softball Recap: Arvada Wins Going Away Against Adams City

Arvada barely beat Adams City the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs blew past the Eagles 15-0 on Friday. Considering the Bulldogs have won 12 contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Alyssa Moreno made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Amiah Picaso, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted over her last ten matchups. Another player making a difference was Amaya Krantz, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Arvada hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Arvada's record now sits at 13-2. As for Adams City, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-9.

Coincidentally, Arvada and Adams City will both be playing Jefferson the next time they take the field. The Eagles will host the Saints at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
