Basketball Recap: Belmont Charter Comes Up Short

Belmont Charter and Renaissance Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Belmont Charter had to settle for second. They lost 55-30 to the Renaissance Academy Knights. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Renaissance Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dallis Stewart out in front who posted 16 points in addition to eight assists and six boards. The dominant performance gave Stewart a new career-high in assists. Aniyah Jones was another key player, putting up 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Belmont Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Renaissance Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-12.

Belmont Charter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Renaissance Academy, they will challenge Mountain View on Tuesday.
