High school football: Isaiah Smith of Ohio tops national receiving yardage leaderboard

Western Brown senior topped 2,000 receiving yards while averaging 17 yards per catch.

According to statistics submitted to MaxPreps, Isaiah Smith of Western Brown (Mt. Orab, Ohio) is high school football's national leader in receiving yardage.

Smith has 2,088 receiving yards after hauling in 123 receptions for 14 touchdowns. In the last five games, the uncommitted senior has gone over 1,000 total receiving yards while catching at least 10 passes in each of those contests for the 3-8 Broncos.

Derrick Salley Jr. of Ashley Ridge (Summerville, S.C.) is second in the nation with 2,027 receiving yards. The senior has caught a touchdown in all but one game this season for the Swamp Foxes, who finished the year 8-3. The 6-feet-4, 205-pounder has four offers including Western Kentucky.

Senior Tate Kjar of Corner Canyon (Draper, Utah) is No. 5 in the country with 1,602 receiving yards. The Utah State commit has averaged 16.3 yards per catch on 98 receptions for the No. 18 team in the nation. With Utah commit Isaac Wilson slinging the football, Kjar has gone over 100 receiving yards in eight games this season.
