Basketball Recap: Contra Costa Christian Comes Up Short

Contra Costa Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 30-26 heartbreaker at the hands of the Holy Names Monarchs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 39-34 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Contra Costa Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Holy Names, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

While Contra Costa Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
