Soccer Game Preview: Jones County vs. Hampton

The Jones County Greyhounds will venture away from home to challenge the Hampton Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Jones County fell victim to First Presbyterian Day and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 4-0. The Greyhounds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Hampton hadn't done well against Locust Grove recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Saturday. Hampton had just enough and edged out Locust Grove 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Jones County's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Hampton, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Jones County beat Hampton by a goal in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jones County since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
