Baseball Recap: Central Christian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Central Christian and Oakwood Christian squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Central Christian had to settle for second. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nick DiCicco was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched. DiCicco was also big at the plate, getting three hits from his three at bats.

DiCicco wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Handley, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Central Christian's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Oakwood Christian, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

While Central Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
