Baseball Game Preview: Leyden Eagles vs. Addison Trail Blazers

Leyden is on a four-game streak of home losses, and Addison Trail a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Leyden Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Addison Trail Blazers at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Leyden's offense. They fell 3-0 to Hinsdale South on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Addison Trail fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Downers Grove South on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 9-7.

Aaron Pastewski made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevor Sosin, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

Leyden's loss dropped their record down to 8-19. As for Addison Trail, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Leyden got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against Addison Trail by a conclusive 20-9 score. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blazers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
