Mountain View had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Palo Alto Vikings 46-44. This was payback for the Spartans, who suffered a 25-13 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Palo Alto still got an impressive performance from Justin Fung, who threw for 373 yards and six TDs, and also rushed for 31 yards. A healthy portion of Fung's aerial production (105 yards to be exact) went to Kacey Washington, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will square off against Woodside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palo Alto, they will face off against Burlingame at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
