Mountain View had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They had just enough and edged out the Palo Alto Vikings 46-44. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 25-13 win the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Despite the loss, Palo Alto still got an impressive performance from Justin Fung, who threw for 373 yards and six touchdowns, and also rushed for 31 yards. Kacey Washington also helped out as he racked up 105 receiving yards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will host Woodside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Palo Alto, they will welcome Burlingame at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
