Valley had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.2 goals) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Prairie Hawks a 2-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Valley have won by exactly two goals.

Valley's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five games. As for Prairie, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coincidentally, Valley and Prairie will both be playing Linn-Mar the next time they take the pitch. The Tigers will host the Lions at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Hawks will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
