Volleyball Recap: New Bern Bears vs. Gramercy Christian Warriors

New Bern was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Gramercy Christian Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in March.

New Bern started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-15.

William Gay and Joseph Yanuzzi certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Gay had 14 assists and three aces, while Yanuzzi had 12 digs and one block. Edwin Zhao also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

New Bern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Gramercy Christian, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
