Basketball Game Preview: Quincy Trojans vs. Chester Volcanoes

Quincy has gone 10-0 against Chester recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Quincy Trojans will look to defend their home court against the Chester Volcanoes at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Quincy took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 43-36 win over Portola.

Quincy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jenna Peay led the charge by putting up 22 points and seven boards. Those 22 points gave Peay a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Skylar McCarthy, who posted five points in addition to 15 rebounds and five assists.

Meanwhile, Chester came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against CORE Butte by a score of 42-32 on Tuesday.

Quincy's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.2 points. As for Chester, their win bumped their record up to 13-7.

Everything came up roses for Quincy against Chester when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 59-32 victory. Does Quincy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chester turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
